Privacy Policy (Canada)

Sacred Blue Studios ("we", "us") operates the Jokerz Service. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

1. Information we collect

• Account information — email, display name, profile photo, and (when you sign in with Google) the Google account identifier. We never see or store your Google password.
• Profile information you provide — username, date of birth (used to verify you are 19+), card character style preference.
• Gameplay information — your predictions, scores, coin totals, timestamps, and which hands you've viewed.
• Technical information — device type, browser, approximate region (from IP address), and crash/error logs.

2. How we use it

• To create and secure your account.
• To verify you meet the 19+ age requirement.
• To operate the game, compute scores, and keep leaderboards.
• To prevent abuse, cheating, and fraud.
• To communicate important service updates. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
• To analyze aggregate product usage and improve the Service.

3. Legal basis and consent

We collect and use personal information with your consent, which you provide when you create an account and agree to these terms. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account; this may end your ability to use the Service.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the Service, under contracts that require them to protect it. These include:

• Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting, analytics) — data may be processed in the United States;
• Analytics providers used to measure aggregate usage;
• Legal, regulatory, or law-enforcement authorities where required by law.

We do not sell personal information.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States. By using the Service you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions and may be subject to their laws, including lawful access requests.

6. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit, authenticated access controls, and audit logging — to protect personal information. No system is perfect; please help us by choosing a strong sign-in method and not sharing your account.

8. Your rights

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your account and associated personal information.
• Portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.
• Complaint — contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec if you believe your rights have been violated.

9. Children

The Service is intended for players 19 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 19. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Cookies and tracking

We use only the cookies and local storage necessary to operate the Service (for example, to keep you signed in and to remember your card style preference). Analytics providers may set cookies to measure aggregate usage; these do not identify you personally.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If the change is material we will notify you in-app or by email before it takes effect.
